acne like spots on neck and head

0 Recommendations

Hi ,
This is my first time to post a question on this site. My partner Bobby has just finished 30 radiation sessions on a tumor on his neck and is due a pet scan next week. In the past few weeks he developed acne like spots in his head and on his neck. I assumed that this was just because his immune system is low but the doctors took a biopsy from one of them. we are terrified as we didn't think there was any possibility of this being cancer. Has anyone had any similar experiences.

Thank you
Marie

Marie, I'm sorry but I have not heard of that, but after my treatments I did get a rash that itched on different parts of my and at different times. My doctor gave me a cream to put on mine. Let us know what you find out and I surely hope all goes well.

Hi Paula,

Thanks for replying, I will let you know how it goes although it will be monday week before we get the results . So fingers crossed . Bob did get a bad rash a but that healed up. I am praying that this is just another side effect.

Thanks again
Marie

Hi Paula,

Me again!!! I read you profile after you replied to me as I thought it was kind of you to take the time to wish us well. Like you I totally believe that faith has so much to do with healing and know that whatever the outcome for Bob it will be Gods will. I was (and still am ) on the lung alliance site as when Bob was originally diagnosed they said that he had multiple mets. to his lungs. We agreed to try an intensive chemo on the lungs but also both left things in Gods hands. In April we went to see onc. for the pet scan results and were told that the cancer was gone from the lungs and that they were so surprised that they even got the biopsy checked again. The onc. said that the team were calling him the miracle man, and even the doctor who is not a religious man said that he could find no explanation. Because of these amazing results he went from being terminally ill to having a chance of a cure . Although he is still quite ill our faith keeps us going, and when someone like you gets in touch I know that its Gods way of letting us know we're not alone. I am so glad that you are well and positive and I just wanted you to know what a difference your thoughtfulness means. By the way I am from Dublin Ireland.

Hello,Yep, same here! I never, ever had to go threw my teens with but a very little acne problem and after I get IMRT radiation treatments to my head and neck they appeared. Some I would say could have been called acne but most were more like very small and like solid or whatever. It all went away but one area around my temple that I still get these little bumps. I am constantly scratching on them. I guess they must bother me because I allways find myself scratching on them. But, no matter what don't ever be afraid to bring up the littlest things to your dr. Next visit will be fine probably. If it is way out of the ordinary then sooner. But if not make a list,ON PAPER, in the head don't count of all the changes you have noticed and all your questions, bring it to your next appointment and ask about all of them and scratch them off as you cover them. Remember you are under a contractual agreement when the dr's office makes a appointment for you. The have a amount of time alloted for a normal visit. If you don't know how long that is ask. and if they say it is 20 min. hold them to that 20 min. If you need more time then tell them you need a longer appointment and they are usually happy to get you in on a day the dr. can give you the time you need. don't just assume they will give you the time you need before you go. If you didn't make them aware of your need and you show up and it's a overwhelmingly busy day for them, then you are going to go away unhappy! Drive your own health care. Noone will do it for you! Boy this sound more like a lecture not a answer! OOp's
sorry! I really go overboard sometime cuz I really do want to help people. It's means a lot to me now because it part of my way to make something good of this horrible cancer experience. Noone seems to think I useful enough to employ so I just try hard to make my self usefull in my down time to hopefully make a difference in someones life. That makes it all worth it to me! With the love God has put in my heart for you! Love Dave Tipton

Dave you sure are a help , for many of us:)

thank you! Dave

Hi Dave,
Thank you for you input it is a great help and has really put my mind at ease as you are the only one on the site who actually replyed to say they had these spots so I was begining to get worried and now I feel much better. Don,t get down about the unemployement thing theres a lot of ot around at the moment (I live in Ireland ) and its the same here. I cann assure you that on this site your advice is very much appreciated by everyone. So don't give up the right job will come along when you least expect it. Thanks again. I've been spending a lot of the time in the hospital so don,t have much time to post so sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
Marie
