hi my name is stephanie and my son has herterotaxy and he is dextrocardia. there are alot of severe problems with his heart. Its amazing that he is even alive and now he has had surgery for the second time. This one was a little hard on him. The next day he went into cardiac arrest and they did twenty minutes of cpr and they got him back, but then he started having seizures and now they have them under control. He also does not have a spleen and so now a month after surgery he has pneumonia because he aspirated. They have just told us that both of his vocal cords are partially paralyzed. So they might put in a long term feeding tube a g tube is what they are talking about. This has been a long struggle and after all of this if his pulmonary arteries dont grow there is nothing more they can do for him.

Well my son had finally come home on April 11,2009. Six days later he suddenly passed away. i just want all you moms out there in similar situations to please dont take advantage of your time with your children it can end at anytime.

I'm so sorry about your baby boy. I hope the best for you this has to be so hard to go thought. I know what it is like waiting to see if everything is going to be ok . My son made it thought everything so far and I spend everyday praying for him and so happy he is doing so well. I will pray for you and your family I'm wish you did not have to go thought this.
