Klinefelters

0 Recommendations

We have been trying to conceive for about 3 years. After no luck we visited a specialist. My husband was diagnosed with Klinefelters syndrome. I also have PCOS. We went to Cornell Medical College hospital in New York to see a specialist who specializes in men with Klinefelters because he can do a procedure called TESE and then IVF. The problem is we both have medical coverage but because we are from Virginia they are out of network and they also do not work with any insurance companies. The IVF must be performed here just after the sperm are taken out if they find any and can not be frozen and transported. The procedure is more than we can afford or probably get a loan for. This procedure is our only hope of having a family. I have researched the possibilities of grants but all I have found require you have no medical coverage. Does anyone have any suggestions for other grants or somewhere we can get funding for the procedure?

There are many places that do TESA. Maybe you can find a clinic in your state.

Because of Klinefelters have arrested development of the testies and small likelyhood that they will find sperm the specialist we have seen in our state have recommended that we see the specialist in New York for this because he has the most experience finding sperm.

I have looked at switching companies that I work for to get better coverage. They will sometimes cover you out of network just at a different percentage.

What about temporarily "moving" to new york and calling your insurance xompany to see if they will cover?

I've also found that my clinics billing person has great suggestions on dealing with insurance companies...
