Stiffness & pain

Can anyone give me some ideas of what I can do for the stiffness & pain, I can barely move some days. It's hard to do housework, etc. without taking pain pills to function.

take hot baths and try to keep warm. Lyrica works for me but I only take it on really bad days and then wean myself off of it or I start to gain weight.

I have been on lyrica 150 mg twice a day for many years now and have not gained or lost weight. I also have been on Savella 100 mg twice a day for the last two months. Was at 50 mg twice a day for about three months and my rheumatologist raised it to 100. For the first few months I did have a problem of profuse sweating spells about two hours after taking it and it would last about 30 minutes to an hour but now I am happy to say I have no side affects at all. Both the lyrica and Savella do help with the pain but it is still very hard to concentrate on anything. Warm soaks in the tub do help but you certainly can't do much while in the tub can you. Lol. The brain fog is still a problem for me. Also you should really learn to slow down and pace yourself. Take frequent 5 to 10 minute breaks. And just try not to do too much in one day. I have been suffering now for almost 10 years now. I am on the fentanyl patch also due to chronic pain from degenerative disc disease. Have already had a three level fusion in my cervical spine with a titanium plate and 4 screws. And will have to have surgery soon on my lumbar as the disc at L4 is bulging and causing pain. I am so sorry I can't be of any help. But I can say being in the fentanyl does not mess with my head like lortab, vicodin and oxycotin does. I wear 75 mcg/hr patch and replace it every three days. I cover it with a good adhesive band aid to keep it from coming off prematurely. If you don't know fentanyl is a synthetic form of morphine. I can say good luck and just know there are a lot of us who look healthy but are always in pain. I hope your family and friends understand how devastating this condition can be. I was a 6 foot 2 in construction worker that worked 12 hours a day 6 days a week and now it is a struggle to walk to the mailbox. But I don't look any different. Being retired Air Force I get most if my medications free but my Savella costs me $25 for a three month supply. I hope you have more good day than bad and I am here to talk most of the time. I send a soft warm hug. CC or Clark I go by either my initials are CCC

Let's face it. Ya get a "certain age"...(don't cha just love that expression).... & you may have to take pain
meds. to get thru the day & nite. That means every stinking day & nite, for, possibly, the rest of your life,
And this is whether you suffer from Fibro., M.S., Lupus, or something else in the pain list. OR....if maturity has caused a little arthritis
to settle in.
SMILE!!! GOD LOVES YA!!!!! :)

i rub icyhot all over then i cover up and try to relax it seems to ease it a little
