"Logically, since they say no two brain injuries are exactly alike, it would make perfect sense that no two recoveries would be exactly alike either. Still it would be interesting to know exactly what is making the difference. You know, why some people's brains seem to use other parts to do the same activity as the damaged area was doing while others just loose the ability entirely. I definitely don't think it has anything to do with lack of effort though"
When I met with the Head Doc at HUP I asked him that exact question. He said he thought the difference might be genetic.
Interestingly enough most of the research done on how brain cells work is done using lab animals. They don't THINK like humans.... talk about different.
That leads me to an important fact:
We have all been ignoring one important universally shared post E-xperience We all think about it!!! Each member survivor and caregiver alike, we as individuals are using our brains to think about our condition. We are looking for ways to improve. Fix “ourselves”. “Self” improvement. Certainly lab animals are not doing that.
Still can’t understand why docs are climbing over themselves to study us. As I have mentioned before a questionnaire would be an excellent start. Kinsey used a recognized polling method

Once again I ask, why don't they ask us questions??? Collect raw data?
