Encephalitis Global is happy to announce our FACES (Friends And Caregivers, Encephalitis Survivors) Retreat for 2009. We have chosen to meet in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 17th through 20th, 2009.
Why a retreat? Feedback from previous FACES Conferences has said that the best part of FACES is the people… meeting and sharing with people who have only known each other via the website. At our previous FACES (held in Nashville, Tennessee) we had no speakers or official presentations. Everyone enjoyed NOT having pre-scheduled time-slots and speakers. Some people enjoyed lingering over coffee and conversation, while others enjoyed walking and exploring. Everyone said they'd had an excellent time.

I hope you all plan on attending. Now wouldn't that be great!?! I have been to every FACES meeting and have gotten to meet so many of you. It's great to be around people who actually can relate to the residuals of E 'cause they have them too. Please try to get there this year.

Carol and I will attend again. Larry will come with us this year. Carol loves LV so you will find her sitting at a slot machine drinking a diet coke.
Glad to hear you are doing informal session again this time. I think Nashville was a great success. It gave Carol a chance to sit and observe other survivors and it gave me a chance to meet others and learn about Carol's disability. Larry is looking forward to meeting others. We have seen such a change with Carol's personality since she has met some of you.

I'd love to go, but I probably can't. I'll try, but that isn't a good month this year. Usually winter & fall is the time that would be best. I'll work on the next one if I can't make this one. I hope everyone has a good time though.

I hope to go. Seems airfare is pretty cheap now. I looked at the Excalibur website and they had a place to input a coupon code or discount when you buy rooms combined with airfare. Anybody know where to get discounts etc?

Hello Bob... Keep an eye on any local travel website, such as www.travelocity.com. Also note that Excalibur offers a package price (to USA residents) when they book hotel/flight together.
