First the good news: Current weight is at 370.0lbs. I can just see 360s around the corner.
So I was watching all these informercials regarding new gimmicks to lose weight. One of them, the ab something or another, was getting play by none other than Bruce Jenner's wife/daughter (Is it Kim Kashi or something like that). Now I know those people have all the money in the world and you can't tell me they forsook their millions to get a commoners item you can by for under $100 bucks?? What, was Richard Simmons out of town or something?
Then there was this...this vibrating wand which goes up and down or something like that. Since this is a family site I won't tell you what it looked like, but trust me you don't want your daughters or wives anywhere near this thing pending a long dragged out explanation for the use of such a device.
I guess I bristle at get fit quick diets; they seem so alluring and a quick avoidance to what we all need: a balanced approach to diet, exercise, and an active lifestyle. I know many moons ago it was the exercise kit that you hooked to a door, put your hands and feet in the stirrup and then move your way to fitness. The problem with it is after six months of "allure" it was in a box buried in my room somewhere. I can't remember if we gave it away or threw it away. All I know is now you can't substitute gimmicks for real life solutions to a fit body.
If we want fitness to become a lifestyle than it begins by just making the small changes and watch them become the big changes. In a word, seed growing for a better you. Just please, avoid the gimmicks, stay clear of reality stars bearing gifts of fitness, and watch out for equipment that will make you blush the minute you see one of your friends use it.
