Hiker Group Friday 11- 06-2009

Well, I've really fallen a bit off the wagon. I've had a mild cold for the past few days and still had to work yesterday so I haven't journaled. I did plan my meals and mentally have in my mind where I'm at.

This evening had friends over for dinner and drank 2 glasses of wine! 8 pts there. But meal was only 6 pts and very tasty.

So this too shall pass.

Now about the group name - I really really love our name. It inspires me to be active. It reminds me of how dedicated you are Hiker and how dedicated everyone is in this group.

And it is a hike we're on. It's a hike with moments that are tough, going up a steep incline and moments that are sublime like being at the top and seeing the view.

And we never reach a destination - even when we get to our 'goal' weight, we are still on the hike, having to be good to ourselves to stay healthy.

So I'm sorry dear Hiker brother, you are wrong here. All of us are hikers! And this is truly Hiker Group!

How do you handle weight loss when you're sick?

Hi Everyone! I am always up for change...but Hiker Group has been around a long time and Hiker Group it shall remain. I am just looking out for you guys. Enough said. I think people on this site realize Hiker Group has a great foundation and is strong and alive.

I always lose weight when I am sick. I have only been sick about 1 day in the last 23 months. So I am going to knock on wood.

I worked out pretty hard this week and I am a little sore. I did have a little treat or treat candy. I am trying to get in better shape, I am finding the older you get you have to take it a little more slower but I am getting there.

I never thought that at 53 I would be planning trips to hike that Applachian Trail and a 300 mile bike trip. I am very happy to have my health and this Group is a great inspiration and I thank you all.

Hey, I DON'T lose weight when I'm sick. I gain! So that's what I'm afraid of.

I guess I should take a chill pill and regroup.

Tonight is a quiet night in and tomorrow's a new day. I plan on figuring out my heart monitor watch and other stuff.

And buying some ice-skates.

So I will be set for interesting, varied activity: skating, swimming, walking, weights, dance!

Oh my!

KickButt - I'm the last one to ask - hahaha - of course flu and cold sick is one thing and me well I just can't seem to get moving, motivated, or stronge enough not to hurt my self at the same time - Dr. get me some times - first I should and have to lose weight - second eat more then I'm used to but change types veggie, fruit for bread and dairy - exercise and move more then I'm doing to much - It seems like I have had to stop and reavaluate things so many times and just this year - I get so I don't even know or even care what I'm going to eat - I just am so tired of trying to do the right thing - Oh by the way I have done that fruit thing for breakfast for the last two days - ooops - my system is telling me too much fruity acid or whatever - and its not being very diplomatic about how its speaking to me - get what I mean - I will try something different for the next couple of days - and sooner or later I should come up with a majical combination and make all happy - ME - DR. - BODY - Wish me luck at this point I'm counting more on luck then knowledge -
Golly I really hate being so blaugh - so don't take me too seriously tonight tomorow hopefully will be a brighter day and my mood along with it -
