Hi my name is Ashley and i was diagnosed with crohns 5 years ago. I started humira in May, and I have only injected in my leg. I am curious about injecting in my stomach but am worried, I find my stomach is very sensitive and sore at the time. I would really appreciate the feed back for those who have injected humira in the stomache, thanks.
I really like to inject in the stomach but i first take ice and hold it on the injection sight firsr it reslyy helps but hurts worse in the leg then the stomsch.......
Yes I was also scared to start injections in the stomach it just seemed it would hurt worse than the leg, but NOT. The leg in much more painful to me than injecting in the stomach. I rotate though and do use the ice pack to numb the area first. Good lucK. I am taking two injections every two weeks. My doctor has me tear the labels off and keep a log of the injection sites. What about you?
Hello. I take Humira weekly and use the ice packs as stated but I find the stomach to hurt more. I am not sure about the previous 2 writers. I guess it depends how sensitive your stomach area is. I have tried it twice, only on my left side and now I have an ileostomy on my right side. The first time i tried it was before the ileostomy. I have had 2 resections so I think my stomach is just more sensitive. I am curious to the other writers if the site hurts afterwards and for how long and does it bleed? My leg hurts for about an hour and I have to put a band aid on it because it bleeds a little. I would try it and see what you think. It may be the lesser of 2 evils for you. If not, go back to your leg. I wish I could take it in the tush!!! Good Luck!
