Hey! I know this is so very awful and I hope you can find some relief soon!! Would soaking your feet in warm water or massages help at all? The later in the evening it gets, the more my ankles/feet and legs hurt - - I am sorry I have no definite advice, maybe someone else can give you some ideas. Could you call the doctor you have been seeing -or even the rheumy and ask for some short term ideas? Know you are not alone and it HAS to get better! XOXO

I don't have pain in my feet yet so I haven't tried this but try getting a personal foot spa, one that keeps the water heated, and add epson salt. I've been told by a Dr. friend of mine this may help.

In the mean time, here's a link about the difference between MCTD & UCTD http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/. I have the later as well as Fibro. I get heel pain too, but usually when laying in bed. I have some sort of growths on my heels which causes the tendons to hurt there sometimes. My entire feet & ankles will sometimes hurt so bad I can't walk. Changes in the barometric pressure really affect it. Epsom salt baths as well as NSAID's give some relief. Also watching my diet for inflammatory causing foods. I have a pain relief creams with tea tree oil in it & a homeopathic oil for neuralgia that also offer some relief as well. If you just need someone to talk to feel free to message me as well.

Foot pain, for me, has become more of an issue over the last 2 years. It's was very painful walking with bare feet. I went to see a podiatrist that was highly recommended from my primary physician. The podiatrist evaluated my feet and fitted me with orthotics/lifts for my feet. They have made quite a difference. I stil do have some pain but not as much as before.

Orthotics help me for a while during the day. I have also found thaT switching /changing shoe styles during the day can sometimes help. Berkenstocks {if you can handle adding them to your wardrobe :o) } work well. aLSO, KEENE shoes are comfy and softer on the bottom of my feet.

I found that going barefoot as much as possible helped me, most of my foot pain is gone. I also soak with epsom salts if it flares up, usually because I wore heels, but what can you do....must look good no matter the pain...lol hope it helps. there is also a web sight for a different kind of orthotics, it is buybarefoot.com.
