My son at the age of 9 has just been diagnosed with MERLD. Its been a long 9 years....reading other posts I will agree, keep things as normal as possible, speak to your child and inspire them as you would any other child. The biggest challenge is having my son feel accepted with his peers. I strongly agree to have your child stay in a regular classroom enviroment. We tried a smaller group class that was taught for children with challenges, this was not the way to go for him. Placing him in the same school as his siblings and with his friends was the best thing I could have done.
I am inspired by the story of the adult who attended law school..koodoos to you! my son will have the same chances in life!
I look forward to reading everyones stories :) I find them inspiring!
