Medical Heroes - not guinea pigs

0 Recommendations

How many times have your heard the question: Why do people choose to be guinea pigs? This question is in reference to their choice to volunteer for a clinical research study. I have met so many wonderful people who have assessed the risks and benefits of participating in a clinical trial and have helped advance medical science by volunteering to participate. These people are true medical heroes and should be recognized and praised!

Thank you, I agree with you completely.

I have participated in clinical trials, and I am NOT a guinea pig.

Clinical trial participation is necessary to advance science. There will never be better treatments, nor a cure for any disease, unless there are clinical trial participants.

I hope this site becomes a place to share information, answer questions, share stories about clinical trials.

Thank you -- to the millions of people who give the gift of participation in clinical trials each year; and to the rest of us who admire them for doing so!

Well said. "Guinea pigs have no choice, human volunteers do." They are the modern day heroes that drive innovation and improvement in healthcare & quality of life for all of us.
