Hi all,
I am scheduled to have another angiogram/plasty for PAD on Sept 29th. (Femoral artery).
More than likely I will follow my surgeon's recommendation but I would like to have some imput on this topic.
Since I have a shellfish allergy, I have been prescribed a substantial dose of Prednisone and Benedryl to take beginning 48 hours prior to the procedure. This is to avert any abreaction to the dye used that day.
Needless to say I Intensly dislke this cocktail because of the side effects.
Has anyone gone without this preparation and lived to tell the story?
I am in process of researching the dye they use. I no longer think it has iodine in it.
Any imput?
