Try Chiropractic or Not

0 Recommendations

After reading many posts on these discussions, some people are quick to tell others "Have you tried Chiropractic?" Others are just as quick to say, "You should not go to any Chiropractor". It is unfortunate that some people are still so mainstream medically brainwashed that they would not be open to the world of Alternative Medicine. Before modern medicine there was acupuncture, herbs, essential oils, inversion, massage, magnets, bone setters (now chiropractic) and the list goes on. If Chiropractic did not work it would not be reimbursed by every major health insurance including Medicare. Forget the insurance game, there has been a paradigm shift in the last ten or so years. More people have chosen to go to alternative practitioners than to medical doctors. Many of those persons have opted to pay cash out of pocket for those visits. What does that mean? People are fed up with the MD's prescriptions, invasive and expensive diagnostics and risky surgeries. Modern medicine has failed to get sick people well. Yes there have been many modern medical advances that have saved many lives especially when it comes to trauma. But I'm talking about the everyday people with back pain, headaches, heartburn, cancers, sciatic pain, disc herniations and so many more conditions. According to some experts, cancer is now the number one cause of death despite the billions of dollars spent on research over the last twenty-thirty years? ? Much has been written about the dangerous side effects of prescription drugs, needless surgeries, hospital errors and how the medical system is the FOURTH leading cause of death in this country!!!. Sad to say but some people will never accept the truth. They will remain to believe what they believe and will never experience the almost instant relief from a chiropractic adjustment on a "pinched nerve" or from headaches, neck pain, muscle spasms and numerous other conditions that only correcting the spine with a chiropractic adjustment can provide. The key is finding the right Chiropractor. Sometimes people have a bad experience with a Chiropractor and then tell everyone never to go to one. Why don't they say that about a surgery that did not work or made things worse? Many people have actually told me they tell their friends and co-workers to NOT have surgery. What about the stomach ulcers or kidney problems they now have from taking so many prescription drugs or over the counter pills??

Chiropractic continues to grow despite that some medical doctors still discourage people from trying it. Also some people "TRY CHIROPRACTIC" and if it does not relieve them of their pain they've had for MONTHS they say it doesn't work. One treatment did not work must not be any good. How absurd! But it happens. I've been practicing for eighteen years and have talked to thousands of people. You don't know what you are missing until you know what you've been missing.

"The key is finding the right Chiropractor."

I certainly agree with that.

Not sure all of allopathic medicine is bad, however...

Peter... you are absolutely right with both points. Gotta find the right chiropractor and yes there are some very good allopathic docs out there ..they're just harder to find. Like I mentioned before modern medicine has made amazing advances like re-attaching limbs, prosthetics, repairing cleft palates and probably many more procedures I'm not even aware of. I have always said we need to give people the best of ALL that healthcare has to offer. We are in medical professions to help people in the least invasive way possible.

Here are a few lines taken from the Medical Profession's Hippocratic Oath:

I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures, which are required, avoiding those twin traps of over treatment and therapeutic nihilism.

I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug.

I will not be ashamed to say "I know not," nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed for a patient's recovery.

I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure.

Peter.. may you Always have Health to Spare, Friends that Care and Love to Share
