My three year old Grandson with a brain injury..

0 Recommendations

My Grandson was two and a half years old when he was viciously attacked by his caregiver. He is now three years old.He sustained severe head trauma when he was attacked by the babysitter.
Even though he is five hours away we still go see him. I would like to know how we are suppose to handle this tragedy. My heart is full of emptiness without my little Boo.I wish the Discovery Channel would feature stories of this nature.

Hi. I am so very sorry that this happened to your grandson. It is so senseless. However, it did happen and now you must go on and accept the child he now is. You must grieve the loss of your old "Boo" to be able to accept the new "Boo". There are a lot of things you will discover he is able to do.
I know I had to give up the so called normal child I never had in order to accept the cons I did have. They have blessed my life in ways I would never have thought about. Yes, my life changed because of them, but I would like to think it is for the better.
What is you Grandson able to do now? How severe of a brain injury did he have?
I would like to be able to help you in anyway possible to go on with your "New Boo" if you would like to converse with me through this site.
I will be heading back to work as a teacher in a couple of weeks, so will have less time to check here, but will definitely check in on a regular basis. So don't worry if I do not get back in touch the same day.
Good luck and may God Bless you and give you the strength to go on. I know in my situation, without Him I would have had a much harder time accepting it and going on.
