Just Given Prescription For Toprol

0 Recommendations

Hello All,
I'm 34 and have had palpitations off and on for about 7 yrs. Finally after a holter monitor finally caught something, I was told that I'm tachycardic (over 120 BPM) 5% of the day. One doc (acutally a FNP) told me it dosen't warrant medication, but my PA (that I see more often) gave a the Toprol and said I would need to take it the indefinetly. I don't have any other symptoms and feel pretty good most of time. I just don't know if this will get worse or will the prolonged use of the toxic drug eventually effect my otherwise healthy organs. I just don't know what to do (take the med or not). I think maybe I should see a cardiologist? Problem is I have HMO and they are stubborn. Any advice about anything I've said would help. Thanks.
