Hello everyone!
Do you wear a medic alert tag?
What does it say? (I'm trying to make a new one and it is too wordy)
Thank you!

Asthma Long QT syndrome Heart failure Anaphylaxis Fetal alcohol syndrome Cardiomyopathy
To a fellow LQTS2'er - mine says:
(my name)
Long QT Syndrome
Defibrillator
(my husbands cell phone number)
It all fits - and you can still read it without a magnifying glass!
My son has Long QT2 (and is severely allergice to tree nuts - among other things) and he wears a medical bracelet from www.medicalert.org. This organization sells a wide assortment of bracelets, watches and necklaces. The difference with this organization is that in addition to listing his medical conditions on the back of his bracelet, there is also an 800#. This 800# is manned 24/7 and emergency personnel could call any time and obtain all his pertinent information including our home address, phone, & cell phones, doctor's name & phone, details on his medical conditions, medications to which he is allergic and more. I pay about $35/year for this service and feel it is well worth the price.
I have a medicalert bracelet too, with the 800# it makes it easier. I don't have longQT though, mine just says:
Impantable
Cardioverter
Defbrillator
Cardiomyopathy
oops...correction
ImpLantable!
lol
i just ordered a medic alert bracelet yesterday. It will have asthma, defribillator, heart failure call immediately
I forgot to say my son's bracelet is the smallest size they sell (he is only 10 years old and weighs just 65 pounds) and his bracelet says "Long QT Syndrome & Anaphylaxis to Tree Nuts" with the 800# at the bottom. It is all quite readable.
My daughter's read an ID number, her chromosome condition (Tetrasomy 18p) and that she was Non-verbal with the phone number to Medic Alert (where all other pertinent information was stored on record.)
Our son has a host of "ABC's" such as ADHD, DCD, Pragmatic Language Disorder, Central Auditory Processing Disorder, etc. So, I simply took the most challenging of these diagnoses for him and listed the CAPD (needs instructions repeated/rephrased.) Again, the full report is on record with Medic Alert.
I have the "dogtag" necklace. It says
implantable
defribrillator
call medicalert
It has Medicalert's phone number printed across the very top, and yes, you can read it without a magnifying glass. :)
My mom ordered me a great little necklace that holds an amazing amt of info... my name, address, medications, medical conditions, multiple contact numbers, insurance info etc... If you look up MedScope Medical ID jewelry or http://www.safetyproductsunlimited.com/medscope.html you will find it. It is a pendant that you look through one end like a minature microscope to display 25 lines of text. I use this because I have multiple health issues and having long qt I want to make sure that I communicate with emergency personnel how important it is that I don't get certain drugs etc. :o)
My twin boys use these bracelets
http://www.kidsvitalids.com/
They think they're cool and their comfortable for them to wear.
Forgot to say that they say
Long QT Syndrome
Bradycardia (for my one son)
Defibrillator
The ICD my husband has under his clavicle is a pretty obvious sign in itself. He doesn't wear a medic alert tag.

Thank you all so much! I've worn one since I was a teenager. My mom worded it ~ ~ so it is loooooooooooooooooong ~ now that I am 40 and I don't wear a lot of jewelry, I want something sammler and simpleir to tell others how to help me in an emergency.
And I also found some great resources from you for my daughter who has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, ADHD, etc.
