ICD lead pain

0 Recommendations

I have had my ICD for over a year now and within the last 6 months or so I've been having some strange pain. I think it's where the leads enter the vein. I was wondering if anyone else has had this or has heard of it. I asked my regular MD who is not very sympathetic about it and made me feel like it's all in my head. I haven't been to the cardio because truly I feel like he may be the same as my reg md. I wasn't able to make it to my last appt to have my device read and don't have an appt for another month yet. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!

Pain

It could very well be lead pain. I get strange pains from time to time that I think are from the leads. I would definitely ask the doctor who put it in. Regular MDs are rather clueless when it comes to that type of stuff! I hope you feel better soon!

when i had my first one fitted, i also had pains from mine, especially trying to find a compatable sleepin position .as time went on everything settled down an al was well, hope the same for u. take care

Yes I just had mine put in in July of this year and can not sleep now unless I take a sleeping pill. If your device feels funny or anything I would wait to call or at least make an appt with them so you'll know for sure what it is. My girlfrien can't even put her head there now she dosent want to make it go off or something.
