Hydroxychloroquine - Increased Pulse Rate

0 Recommendations

I have had palpatation issues for the last 20 years. Normaly about once a month my pulse rate doubles to about 150 and the experience lasts for approximatly 1 minute then the rate goes goes back to normal. All the tests indicate that the plumbing is fine just an issue with the electrical. Nuclear stress test twice.

About 3 years ago I was prescribed Hydroxychloroquine 200 mg for arthritis. The palpatation issue changed to almost a dialy issue. Once I stopped taking the prescription the palpatations stopped. For curiosity and a bit of the scientist in me I started the drug again. And the palpatations stared back up again. Stoped the drug again and palpatations stopped. Almost on a 24 hour basis.

Recently I was given Metoprolol succinate with hydrochlorothiazide and I started to experience the palpatation issue again, but not as severe.

My question is there anyone else that has had a similiar experience with the arthritis medication causing palpatation issues?

Thanks
