Pet scan & chemo "rebound"

0 Recommendations

My daughter was dx with an aggressive form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma)
in June 2008. She finished her chemo end of July this year

So, Question for anyone who is through with chemo...., her end of treatment PET Scan findings were acceptable for her Dr. but....I would like to know if anyone elses report says this:
"IMPRESSION:
Increased tracer uptake in the prominent soft tissue in the anterior mediastinum, which may be thymus rebound secondary to recent chemotherapy, but malignancy can not be completely excluded."

Now, her Dr. tried to re-assure me this is normal and not to worry. The Dr. is very conservative as far as repeating scans too soon because of the amount of radiation, should I be concerned?

Thanks everyone, Peace and prayers to you!

We were told that the body has to bounce back after all the chemo. Strange things may show up in the scans and labs, just hang in there and wait and see waht happens at the next scans. As long as her labs are doing fine, everything is ok.
