requesting help...... a simple request.

My husband has just recently been told his lung cancer has now spread to his bones. Our understanding is he is facing severe pain, some of it has already started.

His 69th birthday is on sept. 14th. I have requested birthday cards for him from friends and family & anyone that will help surround him with love and/or words of comfort and support.

If you can, I would love if you would help make our mailbox overflow. my office address is 210 Duckworth #47, sulphur springs, tx. 75482

address it to Willie the Birthday Boy!

Thanks in advance, Julita

What a good wife you are!!! I can't tell you how much mere cards helped me! I was a property manager in senior housing when I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and I received a card each day from one of the seniors during chemo until they were piling up. When it came to surgery time I lined them all up on the radiator of my hospital room. How pretty they were! And how they cheered me!
The cards you have requested will go straight to your husband's heart. How thoughtful of you.....
Mine will there, as will my prayers...
Blessings

It is VERY important that your husband be in the care of a Pain Management specialist who knows that bone pain can be controlled with non steroidal antiinflammatory medications like Ibuprofen, Naprosyn, Nabumetone, Trilisate and many others. Steroid are also a choice but not for the long haul. Radiation therapy can also be effective but good physician management with a specialist is the most important advice. Ask for a Palliative Care consult and hope that this service is available but if not, find a pain management specialist. Opioid medications like Oxycodone, Morphine, Hydromorphone and medications in this category can also be effective. NOBODY should think that they will have to endure pain in this day and age, but you need to be in the right medical hands!!!
He is so lucky to have you as an advocate!!

Thank you so much! Your advice, kind words, and most importantly the card . Thank you for taking time to read my plea for help & helping me pull this off for him. He is everything for me .
