Spleen

0 Recommendations

Has anyone had an enlarged spleen as a result of Chemo. My husband 55, Stage IV NSCL has been on a 6 week break and has developed a pain in his left back. From what I've read it sounds like a enlarged spleen. The doctor wants to do a bone scan. I guess it's a wait and see thing. He finds some release with pain meds. Please pray it's not mets to the bone.

just so you know. when a spleen becomes enlarged you can notice some pain on the left side of your back but mostly it's felt just under the left side of rib cage. as your husband is lying down feel under the left rib cage and see if your husband responds with pain and or a pressure type of feeling. due to the amount of toxins in the body and lowered immune system caused by chemotherapy the 'spleen' can become enlarged and the Drs during exams will be checking for this.

Thanks you're my first ever reply. We're heading for the doctor on Tuesday and some of his past ct have noted that the spleen was slighly enlarged. I just pray that's it and not the ugly cancer.

good luck and i'll be praying as well.
