I had melanoma that metastasized to the brain in 1999 with a total of eight tumors. One more very small tumor in 2000. I have been on Temodar 100mg one week on one week off since 1999. I have not had any reoccurance since 8/2000. I had two craniotomies and three gamma knifes at the diagnosis and nothing since. Of course we worry about the Temodar causing problems with the bone marrow or causing Leukemia, however my last bone marrow biopsy was clear. Maybe I am very lucky or maybe the smaller dosage of Temodar works

hi judybi - thanks for the info on temodar. i have to make a decision with my doctor, 10/28/09. it is my vote, i have a great doctor. be well - jim

I just underwent brain surgery on the 4th of this month then left the hospital 2 days afterwards.

I am looking for information on this thing called radiation. I too am concerned about the over killing of radiation.

Would like to chat.

I am on my 3 rd round of temodar 300 mg 5 days on and 21 days off. I have malignant melanoma stage 4. I had only one mass. I had radiation for 10 days when I took the first round of chemo. I have a PET pn 16 Nov...I don't think my brain is cooked yet! But it could be! My mass was close to my superior vena cava.
