Hi, my name is Tabitha eight years ago I found out that I had cervix cancer they did three surgerys and told me it was gone. three years passed and I kept hurting they did four more surgeries over another three year period, including a partial hysterectomy. They left my ovaries. Since then I have lost my insurance and can't see a doctor due to we have four children and can't afford it. My stomach has been sweeling so huge I look seven months pregant, My right ovary keeps me up at night the pain is unbearable. I feel lost in the system and don't know what to do, Is there any doctor out there who can help me.

Please go to the ER if you have to. You sound like you are at high risk. I have ovca-do not take the chance and do nothing as it may or may not be ovca. You have children, and if it is ovca, you need to get on this right away as it is your life. I am sure there will be other suggestions on this forum that might help you also. I am concerned because I to looked more than pregnant and had bad pain in my right side which brought me to the ER. I did not go weeks before when I saw that my abdomen was getting larger-I am at stage 3c. Had I waited any longer, it would have been much worse. I am not trying to scare you, but this needs to be addressed now!

I agree with KM.....post go to the ER. I have Non Hodgkins Lymphoma....Been through chemo, and so many tests. I have NO Insurance. I have made arrangements with the Hospital that treated me. I set up a monthly plan...I will be paying for the rest of my life. Which is fine I am HERE. The doctor that did my surgery did it as a gift to me!! So there are doctors that Care!! (strange thought huh)...and my Oncologist told me as long as I give him a small amount each visit he would treat me!! At the time all 5 of my kids were living at home. So yes I know all about tight funds.

Thank you all for the replys, I will try to get to the er asap the pain is horrible today and my stomcah is so huge, the last doctor told me it was just a cysist and would go away on it's on, that was a year ago and i'm still in pain. Any extra info is greatly appreciated.

Dont yall have county insurance, we have the Gold card here if you cannot pay it is for the people that live in Harris County, Texas

Check that out too, I am sure you are eligible.

Take care and get your butt to the ER

Hugs
Linda

We only have state insurance, and they say my husband makes twenty five dollars to much a month. So I applied for SSI and I pray every night to God I'll get it so I can have insurance.

HiI feel for you I really do. I know what its like to not have insurance and be faced with something like this. I have Lung cancer, And had insurance for 2 yrs from my employer, Then when my leave of absence an FMLA were up I could not afford COBRA and was stuck
Let me tell you do not wait. Go to the ER. They have to find out whats what. I just had 2 surgeries and a 6 day stay in the hospital all without insurnce. The hospital can help you file for medicaid, and there are tons of other programs that help people like us.
My Tarceva which is 3,000 a month to take, I cannot afford at all until the medicaid comes through but we applied to the company that makes it and I was approved for the medication for a year FREE.
So please, go get help. even without insurance there are people there to help.

all these people are right,i hope you heed their warnings! My husband has been fighting a very agressive cancer of the throat,he has been thru 3 surgeries 10 rounds of chemo, radiation, you name it,all without insurance. There is help out there!Do you live near a city that has a teaching hospital? They will not turn you away regardless of your ability to pay. Please go to the E.R now, dont say ASAP,your children need their mama

OK - I have Cobra and pay $450/mth. I have ovarian cancer. Well, actually it's Primary Peritoneal Carcinoma. They refer to it as ovarian cancer. I have Epilepsy that I have had since 16. I have tons of empathy for you, I truly do. Don't dwell on the fact you had hysterectomy and left your ovaries in. I had a full hysterectomy in 1997-no ovaries. I was diagnosed in Sept. '08 and just finished up first round of chemo. I had the genetic testing about the ovarian mutated gene that causes ovarian cancer to see if there are people in my family I could help others in the family to get checked. I had no ovaries, and did not even have the mutated gene that causes ovarian cancer & breast cancer so who knows why I have it. The point I want to make with you is.......don't worry about the system or the charges at the hospital. Find you a non-profit hospital, go to the ER as soon you read this. It will not get better. There is fluid gathering in your stomach and you will need to be "debulked". Look it up. I am speaking to you very bluntly, because I've been there. It will only spread. If it gets into pancreas then I don't even have to tell you the outcome. They had to remove my spleen aned a small portion of my spleen. I looked 8 mths pregnant. They removed a very large tumor and the fluid, almost 3 liters of fluid. That is where your pain is coming from, the fluid. Go to the ER NOW and plan on staying. You will feel much better after the surgery. Yes, you are getting screwed by the system, so am I - but here is what you think "they can't take my birthday away". Get the surgery. Set up with a discount with chemo and more than likely, you will be ok in about 3 months. Go get it done!!!!! Money is only money - least of your problems right now. For your family, take care of you and you'll be ok. THEN AGAIN, you may not have to have chemo. Promise me and let me know what you do. I was diagnosed with stage III and he said probably growing a year. I had no idea. A slap in the face and I don't think I have accepted it yet. I am 50 and want to live. I have a friend that has been fighting this for 4 years and they can't take her birthday away. Oh, I was also diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism last week so things "come up". You just have to deal. GO TO THE ER. Go in the middle of the week during the day when it's not busy. I will wait to hear back from you. SMILE and know you will feel better right after the surgery. It's inevitable, you will have to have it done. MY VERY BEST TO YOU! It's alright, really. - Jan

If you can't find your way on the telephone and in person among the various entities that can help you with the money, problem, WRITE A LETTER TO YOUR CONGRESSMAN and ask that office to help.

If you don't know his or her name, somebody's bound to give it to you. The letter need not be typed on the computer or a typewriter--just write it and ask for their help in navigating the various systems. It can't hurt and might help. I have gotten considerable help by writing my representatives.

Here's the way it goes:
