PET/CT scan

0 Recommendations

I was just diagnosed with DCIS. I had breast cancer 27 years ago, I was pregnant, and had a mastectomy. There was no nodal involvement so I had no further treatment. I interviewed two doctors. One wanted me to have a PET/CT scan the other said that was unnecessary. Which was right? I never had reconstruction but this time I am going for it. But inplants or the one using my belly fat? Please help!

I just had a unilateral mastectomy for DCIS. No chemo or radiation needed. I've never been told to have a PET/CT scan. I did have an MRI to help me decided uni/bilat. I had an expander placed during the surgery and i'm getting it stretched to make room for my memory gel implant. I'm glad I chose this - using belly fat will scar your tummy and cause abdominal problems. good luck.
