i am a care giver and wife to my husband who has sclc.
a year ago this month we found out he had cancer that had spread to limp nodes and his bone in the hip.
he went through 6 months chemo and pet scan showed the cancer was gone. then he had radation to the brain to prevent the cancer from coming back.
sadly 2 months later the cancer was back in his lungs.
he started chemo again but now he is very sick, from the chemo and the cancer. the doctor is talking about stopping the chemo...i'm not ready for that, but i'm not the one sick, i'm feeling very sad and under alot of stress, I'm trying to take care of my husband and work also..i don't know what to do...any advice?

God bless you and your husband, Eileen. How does your husband feel about this? Kathy

Thanks for your blessings. He is still hopeful, he wants to get better. He also sees he is getting very weak and knows if he doesn't get his energy back an gets up and around a little, it won't be good. The problem is the more chemo he gets the weaker he becomes, but without the chemo he knows he doesn't have chance. As of now he still wants to take the chemo. Thanks for asking...Eileen

Sounds like your husband is a fighter, not wanting to give up on the chemo. I know what you are going through is very hard. I have cervical cancer that has metastized to my lungs and lymphnodes. So, I am not the caregiver, but the patient.
Is there anyway that you can get into some type of therapy to help you deal with what you and your husband are going through? Perhaps something for him as well?
I wish you the best and if there is ever something I can do, please let me know.
Angie

Bless you my friend, going thur what you are and caring about other, you must be a great person.
Where are you with your treatment? Hopeful I hope.
It's funny you asked about therapy, i was talking to our insurance nurse today and she gave me a number for mental health that our insurance pays for. I was planning on giving them a call. Thanks for caring
Eileen
