Does anyone know anything about alternative medicine for Pancreatic Caner?

0 Recommendations

December 14, 2007, my mother was diagnosed with stage iv pancreatic cancer. She started on a phase II clinical trial but was kicked off because the cancer was spreading in her liver. She was then put on a phase I clinical trial and had the same results. The doctor said there is nothing more they can offer her. I just can't believe they give up on people and send them home to die without hope. I am asking if anyone has any information about alternative medicine. I have read some positive information about apricots and zeolite. Any knowledge is greatly appreciated. God bless

The Todd Cancer Institute at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center is the first cancer program in the nation to apply laboratory-directed therapy as the first-line treatment for advanced solid tumors. The Center is currently hosting clinical trials for cancers of the lung, colon, stomach, pancreas and prostate.

Hi Melissa,
I have a friend who is using Life Force Hospitals with Dr. Frank Truitt for alternative treatment for her stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She is showing some tumor reduction using a drug called amyloxine. You can google the drug "amyloxine" and you should come up with the website for Life Force. I know they don't except insurance and I'm not sure about how they handle the cost. This may be another alternative for you. Have you looked into Cancer Centers of America or Cancer Treatment Centers of America (not sure which)? They run adds on TV here in Texas but I don't know much about them. Prayers are with you and your family.
Blessings to you,
Joy

Melissa-

Several ideas. I am a myeloma survivor (blood cancer) and have no personal experience with pancreatic cancer- my suggestions are just what I have read.

1) Curcumin is a supplement with anti-myeloma, anti-pancreatic properties- quick search of curcumin pancreatic cancer turned up
http://meeting.ascopubs.org/cgi/content/abstract/24/18_suppl/14151
2) Dr. Nicholas Gonzales in NY seems to be successful in managing pancreatic cancer with enzymes- he is sought after though.
3) I also was told by my onc that "nothing more can be done" for my mm back in 9/97. I began antineoplaston therapy in 11/97 and after 17 months on the therapy was in complete remission where I am today.
Good luck-

Thank you all for the information, it is greatly appreciated.

Hello,
Let me know how your friend does with Dr. Frank Truitt. My mother and a friend used him and had wonderful results.
I hope your friend has good results too. I know he has helped many people.

Hello,
Yours was posted in August and it is now Oct. Just wondering if your mom chose another type of treatment. Someone mentioned Frank Truitt, and I knew someone who used him. Their situation wasn't a stage 4, but know he treats many in that stage.
Hope to hear from you.

\We are now trying Cantron. I have heard great things about it. She has no intrest in traveling to get treatment. The most important thing to her is being with her family. She is so positive and I'm so proud of her!!

As a follow on to my previous post about curcumin as a therapy for pancreatic cancer-

"Curcumin Temporarily Slows Pancreatic Cancer
October 1st, 2008 | by admin |

Curcumin, a compound in the spice turmeric, temporarily stopped advanced pancreatic cancer growth in two patients and substantially reduced the size of a tumor in another patient, according to a small study published July 15 in the journal Clinical Cancer Research."
