Colon Cancer metastasized to the brain

0 Recommendations

My mother was diagnosed with Colon Cancer last October, had surgery but then choose to use a holistic treatment when chemo was having very bad reactions. When she was first diagnosed they found it spread to the lymph nodes in her neck but they went away with the treatment. Now this week she had stroke like symptoms and was found to have masses in her brain. She is 80 but has started radiation and seems to be getting her speach and motor skills back little by little. She is still in the first session of radiation with two to follow.

I know that the out look is not good but what can we expect? Will the radiation shrink the masses enough to give her a quality existance? And for how long?

I am sure that her doctors have given her information but I don't live there and am getting it second hand.
