I'm new to the site so forgive me if I post in the wrong place. My name is Tracy. I'm 28 years old. I am an EMT. I have chonic knee pain that the doctors can't find a reason for. All of my tests, X-ray, MRI, two different surgeries, etc... haven't shown anything to be causing my pain. To make matters worse I have no health insurance so I have not been able to get back to the doctors for more tests or to get any type of pain control. I have been very down in the dumps lately because I have an amount of pain that stops me from being able to do anything. I spend my days sitting in a chair with my knee put up crying because I am in that much pain. My husband is working 2 jobs just so we can make the bills so when he get home he doesn't fell like taking care of me let alone listening to me whine. I'm really glad that I found this site and am hoping to meet so people that can relate to me. Thanks you reading this.

Well, you can whine here...Thank goodness!!!!

Glad you are here............have you by chance xrayed the hips? You are too young for arthritis but who knows.

Sometimes as you know, we have referred pain and hip problems for some reason can show up as knee pain.
Just a thought!!!

Glad you are here...Keep posting!!

Hugs and hugs;
Dee

They have not x-rayed my hips but the doctor has done the usual manual tests to the hips and doesn't think that is what it is.

Hi,

I would go to the library and check out a book called, "The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook". This book talks about how you feel the pain in your knee, but the problem could be a blockage from somewhere in your thigh muscle. It teaches you to massage your thigh to help release the pressure that is "possibly" causing your pain.

It has helped me in the past, so it may help you too. It wouldn't cost any money to check it out.

Good luck,
Jellcat

Thank for that suggestion. I will go request that book and check it out.

Got the book a few days ago. I have not been able to read it much due to having to take care of my grandmother; but I have looked through it a little and am really interested. It sounds like something that I hope/think will help. Thank you again for the suggestion.

oh goodness, that's annoying on so many levels. EMT? Loss of job/career, benefits? just touching legit basis of going without more doctor's ? wow, Surgery's? exploratory? they had to have some significant reason; decision. I do hope you try using a cane, walker, bar stool, stand? sit ? if it's not the hips, that would make you more mobile. I've spent hours baking, cooking, when my hips/knees were getting worse, post replacements. Getting up off the toilet was a triumph alone, dark, in the privacy of my own thoughts..what's happening to me moments. The book sounds like a positive insight to many ailments. I'd leave well enough alone? Damage control..? I've heard that " massaging popped up veins, bruises, is like manipulating a blood clot to keep moving?? " My bruises are frightful, without any reason..side effects to my medication to date. It feels similar to a bee sting, I found the source of the pain, ( it's a vein protruding ( bump ) ) then I watch it explode into a gigantic bruise, sometimes not as visible? exposure? It's cause for attention?? No, I'm use to them! But never have I thought of manipulating the blood clot? It doesn't make sense ?? Well, I hope you are learning more as you stay in touch with all of us. Your not alone, stay connected, informed. It's about you, you matter to all of us. Have a positively delicious Wednesday. Thank you for letting me participate in your daily life too.
