Chemo and side effects to joints

0 Recommendations

I am an Ovarian cancer (hopefully)survivor. I have completed Six rounds of Carbo/Taxol & Avastin(over 5 mos) in June '09...My Knee & Hip joints are killing me!
I cannot do stairs , Walking is not much better, and sleeping (in a bed) is becoming unbearable. I have tried all over the counter meds for pain. I have learned that the Chemo / steroids combo can destroy the a (post menopause)women's joints? Any other info out there?

6YEARS AFTER WEEKLY/DAILY 52 WEEKS OF PEGLYATED INERFERON/RIBAVIRAN TREATMENT, i SUFFER OSTEOARTHRISTIS (BONES OF A 102 YEAR OLD-i AM 57) i HAVE FIBROMYALGIA...TREATMENT IS CAUSE i AM SURE OF IT. yOU MAY WANT TO SEE IF YOUR CANCER HAS MASTESSIZED TO YOUR BONES, A FRIEND WHO FOUGHT BREST CANCER 5 YEARS FREE SHE FOUND IT IN BONES.

infusions, source of predisone; was the culprit, along with cyclosporine. I looked in the archives, it was the combination of the two that caused significant " bone pain " in trial studies, years prior to my transplant. " Ruffle Potato Chip " describtion of how my body felt after the transplant, at home, making, effort to make my bed, I knew it wasn't okay, " normal " I did experience rejection years into my post years. Jump start me, " Diehard " battery analogy. An MRI is more conclusive in showing necrosis, infarctions. Dead is dead bone..replacements are inevitable, at any age, quality life at any age. I cant believe that people are sufficed to believe it's an age factor?? Put Off ? Pain, medication, wheelchair, therapy, cane?? been there, not for long!! Staples removed from my hip for a memorable 40th BD. Later to have it replaced, cuz it popped out exactly 7x ! Then the 8th time, less than a year ago, no stranger to bone pain. MRI is a sure thing to consider doing. Good luck. Your a fighter. Have a good weekend.
