I am a 7 year survivor of fNHL and an avid patient advocate. I'm really excited (and a little nervous!) to be hosting a new webcast series. The shows air Wednesday evenings at 8 pm EST, but they're also archived for later listening.
Of course there will be shows devoted specifically to lymphoma, but I'll be covering a variety of topics that apply to people with all kinds of cancer, such as its emotional and practical aspects. Here's a sampling:
Wednesday, October 7: "Lymphoma 101" with Dr. Andreas Klein of Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
Wednesday, October 14: "Mapping the Emotional Journey," with my friend, Dr. Joe Himle, a psychologist at U of M whose sound advice shortly after my diagnosis (in 2002) gave me a firm emotional foundation. Anyone facing a major illness will benefit from this show.
In November: "Helping Children When Mom or Dad Has Cancer," with Peter Van Dernoot of The Children's Treehouse Foundation and Jamie Reno, whose new book, A Snowman On The Pitcher's Mound, is written from the perspective of a 10-year-old boy whose mom has cancer. As a father and lymphoma survivor, Jamie understands the special challenges children face when cancer strikes a family.
I'm still filling in the fall schedule, but here's the link to the show with a complete list of what's confirmed and upcoming with a link from there to the webcast itself: http://bit.ly/4vYgWf
I invite you to listen in and to forward this to anyone you know who might benefit. I also humbly invite you to cut me a little slack as I learn how to do this!!!! :))
Warm wishes to all,
Betsy
