i had my rc in september, path came back as high recurrent possiblity.yes it was in my lypme nodeds, knew that before surgrey, but not all that were taken out were postive for cancer. i did 6 cycles of chemo(cisplatin and gembine)before surgrey to strink the stuff, and it did. had a ct scan before surgrey.
now they want to do radaition/chemo(low dose cisplatin)and can't tell me if i have any cancer cell that got away during surgrey.he wanted to do it asap without any kind of scan..i told him i wanted a scann first to see if and even where the cancer would be.why start something not knowing all the facts..
my questions are,
1-has anybody gone though this, and yes i would like the good and bad sides of it.
2-my diverion is inanda pouch, what effect will radation have on that. it is working very well for me and don.t want to mess that up.
3-is the any other thing i should know.or where can i go for info on it.
he did schedule a pet scan for monday morning.
thanks for your help...slowly getting back on my feet.
hugs to all...karen
