I would just like to share my experience with my foley cather. The first time I had one I was so upset to have to walk down the hospital corridor with it and then to have to go home with it. The hospital did give me a brown bag to walk around with it in it.
Then it was time to go home with it. Once I got home I had my family go through the closet to see if we had any pretty gift bags, birthday, holiday etc. I then put my foley cather into the bag and had a handle to carry it around with me from room to room. It also helped when company came to visit all they would see was a small tube going into a pretty gift bag.
Since I have had several times that I have need to bring a foley cather home for a week or longer, I now have a pretty suppy of gift bags that have a handle on them and I can cart my foley around with me. To you gentlemen out there you can find a nice solid colored gift bag with a handle. During one of my surgeries I looked at my husband picked up my bag and said I feel like I have just gone shopping I'm bringing my bag in the kitchen to make a cup of tea. LOL
Humor is the best medicine of all. Stay positive everyone
Just wanted to share this with all of you.
