You have a time-machine, where will it take you?

I asked my husband this question,

He said, well I wish we could all go back, be without cancer, but since we can't do that I would
go back to the 50'S....HIS SECOND CHOICE.The early 1800"s....THE WILD WILD WEST.....Arizona, Tombstone probably....he said".how many cowboys had a bag", and then he laughed..I don't think I would be there,I would in the 50's, poodle skirt and all,,but I can visualize him,the cowboy hat, boots, maybe one of those long coats they wore.
Where would your time machine take you?

I always wished I could have been at Woodstock....

Much like Hiro Nakamura, i would use the mastery of space and time to go back and right the wrongs I have commited through the years.

After pondering this awhile,I deciDed I would like to live in the era of Pride and Prejudice, where the woman accepted gentleman in the main room, stood when they walked in, road in those fancy buggies,
went to the dances where they wore those dresses with the big skirts and boustia's, (forgive me),,,I would stay for a month, and come back as I would miss the grandkids...it must have been a unique experience.

Good question. I guess there are several places I would like to go but I don't think I would want to move there permanently. We are products of our time and I wouldn't change it.
Here are some places in time that I would want to see:
1) when the dinosaurs roamed the Earth. T-rex and friends.
2) 1927 to see Babe Ruth in his prime. Can you tell I'm a baseball fan? ;)
3) 250 years into the future. I'd like to see what we have done with ourselves and to ultimately find out if I had done anything positive that may have changed the world or at least my little neck of the woods.

15yrsurvivor. I was at a 3 day concert in June, just a few months before Woodstock at Devonshire Downs (Newport 59). Jimi Hendrix, Country Joe, Jethro Tull, Joe Cocker, Taj Mahal, Steppenwolf, Poco, and lots more...I loved being a teenager in the 70's. Lots of good concerts. I guess I would go back to the late 60's, early 70's. My second choice would be the wild west, like Ginger's hubby.

I would go back to 1-3-1977 and take Steve Wozniak out to dinner and invest the farm and then some on his new company gone public. It has something to do with apples .................................Ken

Oh Ken,I get it,,,,

How often do you say,I shoulda?
Back then..............

Cathy, I am so jealous!! I would have given just about anything to have seen Hendrix in concert, not to mention all those other great bands! Hendrix was a genius. That must have been amazing...

I was only 13 during the "summer of love" so I was just a bit young for Woodstock, although I noticed lots of kids were there when I watched the movie.

15yrsurvivor: I was 16 at the time. It was pretty incredible. Only a few miles from where I lived, which made it very convenient. Here is a link with a few pictures:

Cathy

Wow, thanks for the great link! I still think I was born just a little too late for my innate "hippie" spirit....

Ginger, sorry to be straying a bit off-topic!

No problem..........I changed my mind........I want to live in the 40's for one month....maybe we could have 3 choices to entertain.......20's 40's and the ever so popular 50's...........although.....1800's are very appealing........this discussion is for any dream place for you, thanks for the links Cat...............ginger

i agree Ginger, I would like to live in Los Angeles in the 40's, Malibu.

I would take the job of a ranchers wife in Eastern Oregon, in the 1950's. With of course equality built in!!

NancyN

Nancy, would you take your tractor? maybe one from the 40's,,,,,,,,,,,did they have tractors in the 40"s???

ginger

Back to caveman days for me. Give me a club and a women to drag around by the hair and I am all good.

J/K!!!!

I would really like to see Minnesota back before they cut down all the big trees, so late 1700s early 1800s minnesota for me. Definately wanna try fishing back when.

Jim

Oh yes, I own a 1948 Ferguson tractor with a front end loader, and it would be nearly new then!!!

Awesome.....

OMG you are in so much trouble!!!!! I would hope that cave woman would kick your butt......otherwise... hope all is well with you.

Cathy
