Six weeks after Turbt

0 Recommendations

Hi All, I havent posted in awhile,, hope everyone who is having tests, procedures done this month get good reports.
Quick update,, my husband John had his TURBT on Sept. 25 and was found to be clean of cancer! Had no complications or bad side effects from the TURBT. Its now been over a month and this past week he has noticed what he says looks like dark red pieces of what he thinks could be scar tissue? and it is painful when he passes them. He says it happens at least once a day and sometimes it feels like he is blocked and cant urniate. Is this normal so many weeks later? I'd appreciate any thoughts/opinions on those of you who have been so helpful!
Thanks in advance,
Judi, (wife of John)

Cancer Falls

Hi Judi

I have had this happen, after a Turbt also, although I never had a problem urinating.
Mine were, as my Uro described, scabs from the areas in the bladder healing and from areas he took biopsies.
I would advise you contact John's Uro about him having trouble urinating due to the scabs.
All the best,
Jack

Judi,

I had pieces of scab, large pieces of leucocyte shaped like little green peas, and all sorts of things in my urine during BCG. I contacted my doc and drank LOTS of water. I would imagine it could be the same after a TURB. I would contact John's doc also and try to ramp up the water consumption to help wash it all out.

Lynda

I have had that after TURB however you said he was cancer free? Did they go in and do any cutting because if so, its not unusual to have scabs shed off but if they did no cutting, then thats strange.
Since he is having a hard time uriniating I would definately call uro.

Just read back on your previous posts. Sounds like he had biopsies during the TURB.
I would call doc anywa regarding the fact that urinating is difficult.

congrats on the all clear. hope this problem is easily resolved. :)

After my TURB's, I experienced quite a number of "dollops" of blood clots etc. that I evacuated. Some of alarming size and frequency. One large clot briefly blocked my ureter from one kidney. All were deemed "normal" or "typical" by my physicians but it still made me nervous. Apparently, unless it totally interferes with urination or one develops fevers etc, this too shall pass. BILL

I glad to hear of the positive results. I agree with Jack. Check with the uro regarding possible obstruction. In the meantime plenty of fluids.

JJ

Thanks all for your prompt responses! I knew I could count on you guys. I have sent your advise on to John at work, hopefully its just what you all said,, scar tissue comin thru,, we didnt expect that as its been over a month, but I guess it makes sense when you think about it,, when you have an external cut etc. it scabs over and falls off within weeks time, ya just dont think of that happening inside you.. if he continues to have hard time urniating I will make him call Uro.
Thaks again to all of you!
Judi

Hi Judi,
I agree with everyone else, and I experienced this after my turbt as well.

Kyle

I wasnt so lucky, I passed several clots before surgery,it wasnt painful, just scary.Glass to hear the good news. I'm sure where they scrapped or did the biopsy there would be a cleaning out process.

Yes, funny looking things come out after a turbt, my husband would call me in to look,,,then I would call the doctor,,,,some were scabs,,,clots,,,,,various sizes and shapes,,but I always called if concerned,I mean no one said, expect icky things will come out....I hope it clears up soon...but call if its worrisome....ginger

I must say the same with me. I was worried too but the uro said it was normal. I felt like it was blocking me when I tried to urinate then it would push through with a clot feeling a lot better, I hope all goes well for you.

Hi all, again thankyou for your replies. John ended up calling his Uro from work as he texted me later in the day to say he pushed thru a pretty good chunk of tissue and he got a little nervous. He has about a 2hr commute back and forth to work.. poor guy made a mad dash for the bthrm when he came home tonite and passed more. The Uro said just like you all said that it is normal but if it continues thru Mon. he may want to see him. Johns just puzzled that it took this long for this to happen. Thanks to all you pro's on here that have been there and are so fast with your responses to ease our minds.
Thanks again,
Judi

Great news on the all clear! Congratulations!

Hope you can get a resolution on this current problem.

Hi, I am in need of your help again. John is still having problems, didnt sleep at all last nite, up every 10-15min to go pee, and sometimes just a dribble. painful as well. Also still passing blood and what looks like tissue... as you know he talked to Drs. office on Fri.. and they said this was normal.. but my question is... how long does this go on for? Hes been like this since Fri. I feel so bad,, hes misearable. And he has been drinking plenty of water as well. Everytime he thinks its subsiding, it starts up again. The Dr. said to call if it hasnt gotten better by tomorrow.. but Im curious to know from all of you, how long this went on? to refresh you all: its been 6wks since his TURBT. No cancer found at that time.
Looking forward to your responses,
Thanks , Judi
