my mum had a r/c and an infection after the surgery. her fever was always high and her body resisted all the antibiotics. so the doctors had to stop all the antibiotics and an inspirational doctor put her on silver water and after one day the fever disappeared. the test results came today and actually she's making some improvements. has anyone ever tried this silver water?
Something I read a long time ago in history told me that silver and a couple of other heavy metals had antiseptic properties and was used in history. I've heard of Silver Nitrate being used for burn victims too. I also recall they are very poisonous as well if used in too high a concentration.
This would be the first I've heard of this -- but am also interested in what others have heard.

I've never heard of silver water. Is it a British thing?
A friend gave me silver water several months ago and told me to take 1 Tbsp twice a day. I tried it but didn't really notice any difference. Just don't take too much as it turned one man blue, google "blue man". However, after repeated BCG failures and recurring bc, my last turb was clear after 2 years of never a clear bio. Coincidence? Maybe, but I'll keep taking the silver water, it can't hurt and may help, and also follow Uro's advice.

Well, I can only respond with my knowledge of chemistry. If it is what I believe it is, there are two problems and they are serious ones. #1, silver is a heavy metal, toxic and difficult for the body to eliminate and tends to accumulate. #2 if it is not regulated by a responsible authority such as the FDA in the US, you may not know how much silver is in it. But, having said that, I have heard of it being used. In fact in the US is was always used as eye drops with newborns to prevent blindness in the event the mother has syphilis. That was in the 50's I think. Don't know if they still use that. All I personally can say is to be cautious, know what you are using, and be sure to get the proper advice.
"Caution" I have client who was using it for a back ailment. He used it at someones suggestion ( not a Doctor) and he ended up with more serious health issues than he had...... Your body retains it and it can poison you; which he almost did himself in...the gray/blue effect is still in his skin ( he looks some like a "blueman" and this was at least 6 yrs ago...)he became deathly ill and almost died...be "very very cautious" with this stuff... It can be deadly if you take to much; as you retain so much of it ;it effects your whole body's metabolism. He only took it for a few months...

I agree with the cautions and I think that silver will continue to accumulate if taken internally as it is not effectively eliminated.

Silver type patches are used in treating wounds. Len had 'water dampened silver lawn' strips over his by-pass incision to help with healing. Our home health nurse says she uses patches over infected wounds to help promote healing.
Don't have anything about taking it internally. I would be very cautious.

i took all your comments and asked the doctor and he said not to worry. she'll only take this water for 2 weeks. but to be honest her fever has gone and she can eat better now. she'll have the catheter removed next week and i hope the neobladder works at best :)
Real happy she is feeling better and hope she continues to do well. I think you did the right thing by discussing this with her doctor. Best wishes to you and your Mom.
