Our Caregiver for Lenore....HERB!!!

0 Recommendations

JUST AN UPDATE,

In June, Lenore had a radical cystectomy, having complications she has remained in the hospital over 100 days now.
Herb, well, he still has hope, she has had an up and down situation, in rehab out of rehab, and now she has many issues, once again,
Herb said in a message to me, the day she can walk in the hospital on my arm and thank everyone for what they did for us will be my "REWARD".
This is just a THANKS FOR BEING YOU HERB...
and we are here for anything you need...

prayers for you both!

Herb,

On behalf of the patient/survivors, thanks for being such a great and loving caregiver. Without you (caregivers) it's hard to justify the struggle. Best wishes,

JJ

Thanks, Ginger, for keeping us updated on Herb and Lenore. I keep praying that we will hear that Lenore is up and walking.

Many hugs to you both and know that I do think of you often.
Nancy

there is a special place in my heart for caregivers - if we (the diseasee's-diseaser's?) think about it - our cancer is more than likely much harder on our loved ones than us - big HUGS and KUDOS for HERB !!!!!

Herb is my hero.
Continued prayers for Lenore.

First, thank you Ginger...as always, you stay in touch with those in need when we cannot.

Herb,

Your loving support of Lenore is admirable. I am sure this has been a very long, scary road for you both. We will continue to pray that Lenore will, very soon, grab that arm of yours and be escorted out of that hospital waving big "thanks" to all of those wonderful people who cared for her. Mainly...you! (but you get HUGS)

God Bless you both,

Stacy

Hang in there Herb, it will be a red letter day for everyone when Lenore can come home. You are a super husband/caregiver and we keep you both in our prayers

Ginger, Thank you for always going the extra mile in keeping track of those MIA from BCAN.

Herb. Bless you for your unselfish dedication to Lenore. You both have been fighting for so long, I hope you get the break you deserve really soon,

Cathy

Things are on the upswing. Thanks alll for your prayers and words of encouragement.

Herb,

We had a miracle about 8 and a half years ago. Sounds like ya'll have had one also. You are a great caregiver. She couldn't have done it without support from you. We will continue to lift both of you in prayer.

Lynda

Herb: Upswing - awesome! Right direction - more progress will come. You hang in there and let us know when you get to bring your wife home to the grandkids! Praying for you both - Veronica

Herb and Lenore will be in my thoughts and prayers.

UPDATE AS OF FRIDAY NOV. 6. THE VENT HAS BEEN ROLLED OUT OF THE ROOM - HALLELUJAH. THEY PLAN TO CAP THE TRACHE FOR 4 HOUR PERIODS TO SEE HOW SHE DOES. IF THINGS GO WELL, THEY WILL REMOVE THE TRACHE. SHE HAD HER FIRST POPSICLE MONDAY, HER 2ND YESTERDAY. SHE CAN SPEAK WITH THE PASSY MUIR VALVE. SHE HAS HER SENSE OF HUMOR BACK AND WAS UP IN A WHEELCHAIR FOR 30 MIN. YESTERDAY. WE ARE SO BLESSED. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS, NOW HER CAREGIVER (ME), HAS A SORE THROAT. I WILL AT LEAST MASK AND MAY NEED TO STAY AWAY A COUPLE DAYS. I HAVE A DR, APPT. TODAY.

Well, great great news! that they removed the vent from the room! Please get some rest yourself and take lots of medicine to cure your sore throat... i recommend tea and brandy, but ahhh that's just me :)
Lenore is (believe it or not) going to need her hero (and mine) even more when she gets home, so take care of YOU! hugs michelle

Hi Herb,
I am so happy to hear the good news!! She is making progress and a sense of humor to boot. That is a WOW!!

Seems that the sore throats are going around everywhere. I had one a couple of weeks ago and still have a bit of coughing and runny nose. It is slow to get gone. At least the feeling real bad only lasted a couple of days. Do be careful around Lenore!

Hugs,
Nancy

Herb,

What wonderful news. I hope that your sore throat soon resolves and that Lenore continue her miraculous recovery. Best wishes,

JJ
