It has been a LONG time

It has been so long that many of you may not know me but a few will remember. My sweet mama passed away on August 10th. The last month was a nightmare. Now she is out of pain and free of this awful disease. Ironically, we buried her two years to the day after her RC. She fought the good fight and was an inspiration to us all. We all miss her very much!!

So sorry for your lost, please accept my sincere sympathy. Myh mom passed away 4 years ago and she said she'd nev er leave me. AndI believe it. When my husband was in hospital having his r/c I got ill and had to go to hotel to lay down. I had my eyes close and I felt someone lean over the bed and I thought my daughter is back from hospital and checking me, I opened my eyes and no one was there. I knew immediately it was my mom, she did not leave me. I feel her presence all the time. It gives me such peace. I hope you experience something like that it will lift you up. Joycee

I remember your posts well. You were a wonderful support for your Mother. I think Joycee is right...the people we love so dearly stay with us to be special angels watching over us. Draw comfort from know she is no longer in pain and is always with you.

Thank you all! The last few weeks were extremely hard. However, when she started to go downhill, it went fairly quickly which is a blessing of sorts. She was only incoherent for a couple of weeks. She died at home which is what she wanted and her services were beautiful. We had people who knew her well speak and it was very comforting to hear all the memories and kind words. I somehow mustered up the strength to speak as well. I am so glad I did. Her burial was also beautiful. She wanted to be buried in an old, small cemetery on the farm. It is way off the main road, but Daddy had it fixed so that cars could get there. I wish you could see the spot. It is amazing. We had her casket carried back in a wagon pulled by mules which was so fitting. Daddy is doing surprisingly well. I know he misses her deeply, but in some way, I think the pain is meant to help prepare those of us left behind to let go. It somehow makes it a little easier to let go when you know they will no longer be suffering. I remember that by the time she took her last breath, all I could say was "Thank God!" because I had prayed for Him to take her and end her suffering. I don't know how often I will check in but just know that what you do here is a blessing!

So sorry for your loss. She was a brave soul and you were to. My condolences to your family. I know it is very hard when you loose someone so close to you but; You should be happy that she is no longer suffering. Remember the smiles and the good times you had together and that will help to sustain you and your family..
