Hello, I had IBS before RC and now that I had my surgery I dont seem to have the same problem. I think part of that is the fact that I eat different now but also I guess it depends on if you have IBS with severe diarea or if it is both diarea and constapation. let me know and I might have an answer for you.
HI! I have IBS with both diarrhea and constipation. My symptoms have not been too bad since my RC, but my new colon/bladder (Indiana Pouch) has strong spasms that cause my stoma to squirt with some intensity. Sometimes it lasts for5 seconds and completely soaks an Ultra Poise pad which I have to wear all of the time. The only thing we could come up with that could cause it was IBS. My surgery was Mar. 21, 08. Thanks, Kathy
