I stay away from caffeine until I start feeling more "normal" Water is best in my experience because it flushes the BCG. I also like those protein shakes. Cranberry juice is good and you can find the unsweetened kind and add a little water and Stevia (natural sugar substitute) because the juice is really sour.

My husband likes lemonade, decaf iced tea, ginger ale, cranberry juice, after his treatments. Just stay away from caffeine; it irritates the bladder. LOTs of water is your best choice.

Thank you for your input.I just checked with my MDs office and they said that caffeine was ok except on treatment days.As with everything it should be taken in moderation

Thanks for sharing I contacted my md and caffeine is ok except on treatment days

Glad you checked with your MD. Everyone is different. My husband finds caffeine irritates his bladder more than just on treatment days. Just see how you do, and LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. Good luck!

I thank you all for your input and we all are different but sharing makes us all stronger

Water, Water, Water, and Cranberry Juice.
Thats my liguid intake during BCG treatments.
Of course the odd AK too.
BCG = Bladder Cancer Gone

I drink two cups of coffee everyday even during treatment and have had no problems. Everyone is different, as Justducky said, so do whatever is best for you.

Now that your cured tell me how many treatments of bcg you had

I had 30 BCG treatments.
Cured not sure about that, been cancer free for nearly 2 years. But I still have cysto every 3 months, and a CT Scan once per year.
All the best,
Jack

When I had the three bcg,s last year I tried to drink lots of water and some iced tea. I am an admitted coffee-holic and drink more than a pot a day, so I am sure I was drinking coffee that day too Dr. never told me not to. Now I know so no coffee Friday.

Ron

I drink lots of water, keiffer yogurt drink, and lots of decaf green tea. Anything acidic irritates the bladder.

water, certainly works, as does milk shakes, iced tea would work, i would avoid hi acid fruit drinks, don't know for sure but they could change the acid base character of urine. Guava juice is a nice low acid juice, usually found in the frozen juice section of your groc store,
