Does anyone get eye swelling below the eyebrow mostly and really huge in the morning and then a little better as day goes on? I have sarcoid in my eyes, lungs, thoracic lymph nodes, skin, parotid glands and possibly neuro. This is strange because this was my first symptom back in 2007. Saw my allergist who suspected angioedema but bloodwork ruled that out. Sent me to a hemotologist/oncologist who did the 24 hr. urine collection and 18 tubes of blood later and a ct scan from my neck to my pelvis did they give me a medianoscopy and discovered Sarc. The oncologist ordered the biopsy because he suspected lymphoma. O.K. So I was put on prednisone when this lovely malady progressed to my eyes . As soon as I took the steroid the eye swelling went away. Doc took me off prednisone and other symptoms developed (skin plaques on my shins and the uveitiis). Docs decide to treat again so I started on 20 mgs. for two months. Things seem to quiet down except for the usual lousy pred. side effects. Now I am tapering down 1mg. per week and have reached 11 mgs. per day and guess what--my eyes are starting to swell. It comes on very gradual and then within about seven days I wake up with golf ball like swelling below my eyebrows. Why would this be happening while I am on Pred.? when that is what they first used to make it go away. It is a deep tissue swelling so no amount of icing etc. helps. I sleep raised up too thinking it may be fluid. Is this even SArc. related? I do have bad allergies but take shots and allergy meds for that. HELP!
