I was in my PCPs office last week for my monthly blood work, I mentioned that I'd been having a little trouble breathing when I lay down so she did an ekg in the office, she came back and says "I think we need to do a stress test, your ekg came back abnormal" (my ekg has been abnormal since the dissection, there's aortic regurgitation). I remembered the Cardiologist and the Cardio-Thorasic Surgeon both saying I shouldn't have stress tests, the initial dissection was repaired (replaced aorta through the arch and double valvoplasty) but the second dissection and pesudoaneurysm are both unrepaired and are being monitored. I told her I'd like to double check with my specialists at first she seemed really upset by this, made me feel like I was betraying her or something, but then finally agreed. Once at the Cardiologists his exact response was " no no no absolutely not" the Surgeons response was "you can't do anything that would stress your aorta". Why do dr's keep trying the wrong things, prescribing the wrong drugs, and just making mistakes with my life, what is it about me that's not important enough for them to do the best that they can do? It would really be nice to feel like I can just trust them and not have to double and triple check everything each one of them says. Sooo tired of it.
