my husband's father died in his sixties undiagnosed from a mysterious condition in the 1960's. at age 27, my husband had strange symptoms which took 2 1/2 years to diagnose- confirmed as amyloidosis and his mutation was identified as proline 36, rare and aggressive. my only child started with eye symptoms and soon foot pain right before her 26th birthday in 2002. she was soon diagnosed and did receive a liver in 2003. she was doing well except for the eye symptoms but contracted an infection and died in 2005. please share your stories with me.
