Winning a battle, still fighting the war

My 72-year old wife was diagnosed with Primary amyloidosis 3 years ago and given 6 months to live. She's still fighting it but the doctor has stopped the chemo (melphalan) for several months because her Lambda count has dropped drastically. Her problems are EXTREME weakness and severe all over itching. Any thoughts from fellow sufferers or caretakers, if so, what you've found helpful. Her Amyloidosis has shown up mainly in the heart ( severe bi-ventricular restrictive and infiltrative cardiomyopathy) and some in the kidneys. Don't know whether it's moved into the skin (cutaneous amyloidosis). Thanks for anything you can offer.

Jim
