Itching associated with Primary Amyloidosis

0 Recommendations

My wife was diagnosed with Primary amyloidosis three years ago. Melphalan has brought her Lambda count down to the normal range so she's been taken off it. However, she has intense itching, especially in the evening and night. Tried Sarna and Atarax with little success. Anyone have a similar situation and if so how did you resolve it. Thanks.

Atarax Benadryl Amyloidosis

Has she tried Benadryl yet? Seems to help hubby.

Thanks Luu for the Benadryl suggestion. We have tried other anti-histamines but they haven't helped much. That's the problem, nothing really stops the itching for long or permanently, as I'm sure you know.

Some have had success with Cetaphil lotion. You might want to try that. Have you joined our main email list yet? If not, go to www.amyloidosisonline and join. We have over 700 people on that group now and you are sure to get more answers there.
