has anyone experienced a negative statin effect pertaining to kidney function? My husband takes lipitor and the 2 times he went off it for 1 to 2 months his urine protein spill dropped close to half (12 Gm to 7 Gm).
He tried zetia without cholesterol benefit. Niacin is our next consideration but it may raise his already elevated blood sugar. It all comes down to trial and error and convincing md's of findings. For us it is Important to keep a running chart of lab values, that's easier than looking through stacks of lab sheets.
