Cirrhosis of the liver- recently diagnoised

0 Recommendations

My legs have been swollen for over a month. I have fluid in my abdomen and legs. Have been taking water pills, but they still not are providing any relief.

Family members feel that they doctors are not being aggressive enough here in Pittsburgh. They suggested to going to the Cleveland Clinic or the Mayo Clinic. I am extremly short of breath and tired and trouble walking. I am 54 years old.

Has anyone been there? Am I expecting too much too soon.

Please help and let me know if you have any other options.

Thanks,
Debbie

onset? period of time to get to your stage? Over night? It feels like it! Have they even mentioned " the waiting list ? " Water retention and leg cramps, side effects to water pills. What about jump starts with predisone, infusions? I had autoimmune hep. jaundice, list of red flags of taking note, something was very wrong. Prognosis with or without regiment of meds? Who's asking for answers? Make a list, bring someone to the dr's always. amonia levels? without my sister? I owe my sister and the very undestanding compassionate Transplant coordinator, they don't exist anymore? They need " name tags " never the same one in 19 years. It happens slowly? not really? I went into hepatic coma, an uneventful sleep, lasting for " twix " waking to be the top patient in need of a transplant asp. The rest is history! My sister knows more than I ever will! She was there, with lots of family. Don't sit around? Be patient, a good patient..if you want answers, start asking the specialist.
