IT IS AMAZING TO ME

MY UNCLE PASSED AWAY 8/12/12 FROM GBM IV - HE WAS DX IN DEC. 2011. I WAS ONE OF HIS CAREGIVERS AND HIS PT ADVOCATE. I DECIDED TO JOIN THIS SITE .... TO SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE GOING THROUGH WHAT WE DID AND HOW MANY PEOPLE THERE ARE WHO SUFFER WITH THIS HORRIBLE DISEASE. I AM ASTOUNDED TO READ SO MANY SIMILAR STORIES AND HEAR THE SAME WORDS AND THE SAME FEELINGS. I HAVE BEEN IN THE MEDICAL FIELD FOR 26 YEARS (IN MEDICAL OFFICES ) AND I HAVE DECIDED TO CHANGE MY WORK...... I WANT TO BE A PATIENT ADVOCATE OR PATIENT NAVIGATOR. THERE HAS TO BE AN EASIER WAY FOR FAMILIES TO GET HELP ......... I HAVE SOME KNOWLEDEGE IN INSURANCE HOSPICE AND LOVE TO RESEARCH. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF I CAN DO ANYTHING FOR ANYONE OF YOU! STAY STRONG IN YOUR FIGHT!

Hello YellowAngel!

It's really thoughtful of you to change professions and come on this site to help others. My father was diagnosed in April. It's been a rough road. And on top of all of it, I am one of his fulltime caregivers as his wife decided she couldn't deal with it and has left! I'm having a hard time dealing. I am also in the health profession. I'm a therapist at a chldrens rehab hospital so I take care of kids there and then home to care for my father. I love him to death and would do anything for him! It's a horrible disease. He has AAIII.

Wow! I really appreciate people like you. I have been diagnosed with a optic nerve meningioma, 3mm small, so far i am ok and doing well. I have to go back for a ct scan November the 26th, it will be six months after I have been diagnosed. The doctors don't think that I need an operation, I also think so since I have improved from the pains I had, without treatment. I could not open my mouth wide, or even to yawn was a problem. Right now i can chew yawn and even sing.

God bless you.
