YvetteSA,

A craniotomy is a big event. Things take time to heal. There was residual swelling in my head for some time. Ask the neurosurgeon just to make sure.

My husband had craniotomy in 12/2011 for GBM. It was a gross total resection, so they got all the tumor. He had areas of "contrast enhancement" on his MRIs for several months following his chemo & radiation. They were saying it was due to the radiation. My husband had monthly MRI's starting 1 month after he finished radiation (April, May, June). He didn't have an MRi in August and that was the first time he didn't have to have one at his monthly visit. The "spot" is stable, not growing, doesn't look like a tumor to the radiology oncologist or neuro oncologist. I'm taking it as good news that they let him skip an MRI for a month. Next month, they will do another MRI. They said it is common to have contrast enhancement after radioation.
