My Mom and Dad are moving out to New Hampshire to be near (Mom) / with (Dad) my sister, who is a nurse. I know it is the right choice, as after her fall, I can no longer care for her here. Also my Dad has substantial physical health issues at this point.
With that said, it is still hard to say goodbye, as I do not have the finances at this time to go visit. My Dad is really struggling with the move. My Mom at this point is pretty much oblivious to anything -- does not even know, as far as we know, that my Dad is also sick (congestive heart failure and cancer)
I think, for me, reality really hasn't hit yet. It will next week when I am here at the house by myself for the week, prior to retuning home (I have been up at their home near Duluth, MN for the last several months (March). It will probably come in with a crash.
I know my sister is very willing/able to help, and again know that it is the right thing to do for this time and this situation. I'm struggling with my Dad's special low-sodium diet and I can't get mom in/out of the house without making major changes at the house. (ramps, etc.)
I guess that's it for now.
